The Whittier Union High School District will launch its new website June 30th, featuring a sleek and modern look designed to provide students, staff, parents and the Whittier Union community easy access to resources and information. 

The redesigned District homepage and individual school home pages will maintain a comprehensive web presence that can also be accessed on tablets and mobile phones. The website will include additional content areas for news and announcements, a calendar of events and information on the Local Control and Accountability Plan and new funding system. The District’s page features a translation button – allowing visitors to translate website content into various languages using Google Translate. Whittier Union partnered with Edlio, a leading school and district website developer, to enhance the website and integrate features and tools that matter most to District stakeholders.

2015 Report to the Community 
WUHSD students are reaching increasingly higher levels of academic achievement as the result of the District’s focus on its “Whatever It Takes” initiative.   • Pioneer High Celebrates College-Bound Students with College Signing Day

    Hundreds of students from Whittier Union’s three AVID schools celebrated an important next step toward achieving their academic pursuits during College Signing Day on April 26, establishing their commitment to continue their education at a university, community college, the military or vocational school. Clad in college apparel and smiling ear-to-ear, Titans, Chiefs and Cardinals from Pioneer, Santa Fe and Whittier high schools signed banners of the colleges and universities they will attend in the fall, inspiring crowds of cheering underclassmen.

  • Pioneer High Schools Earns Prestigious AVID National Demonstration School Status

    Pioneer High School’s thriving college-going culture and strong academic curriculum has put the Whittier Union campus in the national spotlight, earning distinction as a National Demonstration School for AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a college-readiness system designed to increase the number of students who enroll in four-year colleges. Pioneer is the second school in the District to receive the honor, held by fewer than 3 percent of AVID schools across the nation.

  • State Unveils New Schools Performance Dashboard

    The new California School Dashboard – a tool that evaluates district, school and student performance – was released March 15 for a statewide field test, providing Whittier Union families and educators a glimpse of the new accountability and improvement system before its official release in fall 2017.

  • Resiliency and Maturity Earn Pioneer High Student Recognition from Board, Titan Community

    Pioneer High School senior Lazarus Casillas endured great emotional hardship after the death of his mother six years ago, a struggle that spurred academic instability during his formative middle school years. Since finding a home at Pioneer, he has emerged as a student leader whose resilience and maturity serve as an inspiration to his schoolmates and the Titan faculty and staff.

  • Whittier Union Launches New Tool to Increase Communication Between Parents, Teachers

    The Whittier Union High School District has launched a new electronic communication tool that will help strengthen engagement between students, parents, teachers and school administrators. Already integrated into the District’s Aeries Parent Portal student information system, Loop supports one- and two-way announcements and messaging between any system users through phone calls, text messages, e-mails, text-to-speech and instant messaging.
