Santa Fe High School has a nationally recognized AVID program aimed at reaching students in the middle and preparing them, through a rigorous academic program, for acceptance to a four-year college. The target students are ethnically underrepresented in colleges and universities. AVID has existed at Santa Fe High School for almost 20 years. We are visited by teachers and administrators from schools across the country who are in the process of implementing AVID at their sites. This program targets those students in the middle GPA range (2.0 - 3.5) with the intent of enhancing relevant connections between school, career and college opportunities and providing individualized attention from a smaller core of teachers.
