Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! This website is a work in progress. There are several links in the Resources section and lots of downloads too. I will do my best to add to these sections on an on-going basis. I hope you find them useful! Let me know if there is something specific you would like to see here, and I will try to add it. Let's have a great year!
We are very excited to start the school year and as usual we have several events and meetings that you should know about now before school starts. Freshman parents, please view the letter regarding our morning workshops & Puente participation points here. All students and parents, please view the morning workshop schedule here.
This year, as with other years past, our selection proces for the incoming Freshman was a difficult one, having had many qualified candidates and only room for 68 of them to join us. We sincerely hope that our new students will not only meet but exceed our academic requirements. We know that this group, as well as the rest of our Puente students, is capable accomplishing great things!
We are making every effort to insure that our students continue to meet the rigorous demands of the Puente Project, including, but not limited to, satisfying the A-G requirements. Our foremost expectation is that students receive a "C" or better in all of their college prep courses. Students who are not meeting this requirement will be placed on a contract in hopes of helping them improve their grades. Students earning at least a 3.0 GPA (cumulative & weighted) in their A-G courses are exempt from this contract.
THOSE WHO CONTINUOUSLY FAIL TO EARN A "C" OR BETTER IN THEIR A-G COURSES WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROGRAM INDEFINITELY
Please contact Mrs. Ramirez if you feel your son or daughter may not be able to meet this requirement.
