La Serna's Film & Media Academy offers a dynamic curriculum designed to immerse students in the world of film and media, preparing them for future endeavors in the entertainment and arts industries. With a focus on hands-on learning, our program caters to kinesthetic learners and art enthusiasts alike.

• In their SOPHOMORE year, students delve into the art of photography, mastering Mirrorless & DSLR cameras, honing their editing skills in Lightroom & Photoshop, and exploring composition, posing techniques, and commercial photography. They also gain experience in off-camera lighting both in-studio and outdoors.

• During their JUNIOR year, students expand their skill set by delving into various media editing software such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, while also delving into Graphic Design principles. Introduction to Video Production principles ignites a passion for media arts.

• In their SENIOR year, students are equipped with the fundamentals of film production, working with diverse programs, mastering costume styling, and delving into acting, directing, commercials, and film editing. Their culminating project involves producing a short film showcased at Starlight Cinemas in Uptown Whittier.

Moreover, our academy offers enriching field trips to film locations and art museums, opportunities to shadow industry professionals, and inspiring guest speaker sessions.
