Whittier Adult School has been providing educational and vocational training opportunities to the Whittier community for over eighty years. We are proud to offer classes for both adults and concurrent high school students in the Whittier Union High School District.

Our academic programs for adults include English as a Second Language (ESL), adult basic education (ABE), and graduation equivalency diploma preparation (GED). We are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and College to award high school diplomas.  Each year we recognize our adult students in our June graduation ceremony held in the Whittier High School Vic Lopez Auditorium.

Our Career Technical Education programs offers career path training in the areas of Accounting, General Office, Medical Front Office and more. Computer Repair classes prepare students for the Computer A+ Exam. Our Job Developer works with the local community businesses to help place students upon completion of their programs.

The Parent Education program serves approximately 300 families. The program offers 13 classes, from Parenting the Infant to Parenting the Pre-kindergarten Preschooler.  In all classes parents are given tools for successful parenting, especially in the areas of discipline, child development, family relationships, health and school readiness.  Additionally, parents are able to share ideas with other parents, and many longtime friendships have been established between families.

Our guitar class meeting once a week and is open to all.

Whittier Adult School is committed to Enriching and Empowering the Community. Our objective is providing timely and relevant educational programs for all our students.  Our dedicated teachers stand ready to support you in meeting your personal and educational goals.  I encourage you to join us.
