New Interim Assistant Principal of Business and Activities Hired for Pioneer High School

The Whittier Union High School District Board of Trustees recently appointed Annette Ledesma to be the new Interim Assistant Principal of Business and Activities for Pioneer High School.

Ledesma was promoted from her position as Dean of Pioneer High School. As the Dean, Ledesma proved to be a valuable team member of the Pioneer community and quickly established herself as being highly effective and service oriented, said Superintendent Sandra Thorstenson.

“We are proud to have Annette take this next step in her professional career leading the activities program at Pioneer High School,” Thorstenson. “Annette has established positive relationships with the school community, and parents have expressed their gratitude for Annette’s character and leadership.” 

Ledesma's ties to the Whittier Union High School District are strong as she is a graduate of Santa Fe High School. After graduating from college, she began teaching English at La Habra High School. In 1998, she returned to her alma mater as a teacher and a coach. She also held leadership positions at Santa Fe, including Intervention Specialist and College/Career Center Director.

Ledesma earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Cal State University,Fullerton and a Master’s Degree in Education from Cal Poly Pomona.
