Karen Carr's Moderate/Severe Class Transition Program

Dear Parent(s),
I have created this page to keep you informed during the 2 week dismissal and 1 week Spring Break, for a total of 3 weeks away from the classroom (3/16 to 3/20, 3/23 to 3/27 Spring Break, and 3/30 to 4/3/2020).  As of today I have been informed that your son or daughter will return to school on 4/6/2020.  (Subject to change and I will keep you informed.)

Today on Monday, 3/16/20 packets of worksheets were mailed to your home address.  This work is for my students to work on during the two weeks of dismissal time.  On this website I may be contacted every day (M-F) from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  I will also be calling you to check up on how my students are doing and answer any questions that you may have. I will not be able to be reached at the school phone number.  Thank you.

Sincerely,
Karen Carr

Week May 18-22, 2020

Hi everyone, hope that your family is doing well.  This is a short week as this weekend is Memorial weekend.  So there will not be any school on this Friday and next Monday.  We are having zoom classes with the students and staff on today, Monday and Thursday at 10:00 am of this week.  Students can still be completing the packet from last week if they haven't already and also I sent another packet today.  This packet has money management, dollar-up and street safety.  My staff will be calling on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week or doing a zoom call and going over the student's work with them.  As well as seeing if they have any questions.  Have a good week!!  Karen

Week of May 11-15, 2020

Dear everyone, how are all of you doing during this pandemic?  I wanted to update you on all that we are doing on distant learning in our class.  Each week I have 3 zoom classes and lessons with the students in my class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for an hour each day.  We discuss various lessons and also work in the packets that I send home each week to the students.  Also I call the families twice a week, and my staff call 2 students twice a week.  I want to touch basis with the families to see how each family is doing and if there are any concerns.  This week the packets consist of work on the subjects of money management, safety signs, and decision making along with budgeting.  We will talk about it in our zoom lessons.  If you have any questions I have office hours between 11-12 each day and feel free to call.  Have a good week!!  Karen
