Update on Cal High Incident - July 6, 2018

Update 10:20 a.m.: All clear. Sheriffs investigators are now saying they do not believe there was ever a person with a gun in the area. But out of an abundance of caution, they conducted the sweep to ensure students and residents were safe.

Earlier: California High School was put on lockdown at 9 am Friday due to a report of a person carrying a gun in the neighborhood near the school. Because of the summer school session, approximately 700 students were on campus. While the school has only one point of ingress, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies are sweeping the campus to ensure it is secure. Students are currently locked in their classrooms. Parents should plan to use standard methods of pick-up once the school is cleared. At this time, no one is allowed to enter or leave the campus.
