Who We Serve
Our mission to provide all of our District students, homeless and foster students, with the opportunity to be involved in growing experiences outside of the classroom and access to goods and services that would help them have a positive and successful educational experience. Studies have demonstrated that being able to participate and compete in extracurricular activities improves overall student performance and it is our desire to make such opportunities available for as many of our students as possible.
With 78% of WUHSD students economically disadvantaged, the Educational Foundation exists to close opportunity gaps for these students, so that they can participate in extra-curricular opportunities that will enhance their learning and leadership. It is our hope that these students will, in adulthood, pay it forward as active and contributing members of the greater Whittier community.
The Educational Foundation operates solely on direct donations. Your gift, in any amount, is tax deductible with 100% of proceeds going directly to support students, Tax ID #: 47-3891956.
Educational Foundation Board of Directors
The Educational Foundation 501 (C) (3) Board of Directors is comprised of community members from throughout the greater Whittier, Santa Fe Springs, and Norwalk communities, committed to enhancing educational experiences for the students of the District.
