Program for the Visually Impaired
Welcome!
The Program for the Visually Impaired, part of WACSEP (Whittier Area Cooperative Special Education Program), assists students with visual impairment, parents, special and general education personnel, and sighted peers in meeting the unique educational needs of the student with a visual impairment. The V. I. program provides support services to the following school districts:

- Whittier Union High School District

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is responsible for specialized instruction and services required to meet the unique educational needs of the student with visual impairment.
The Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O & M) teaches students to travel with proficiency, safety, and confidence in familiar and unfamiliar environments.
Services, books, materials and equipment are provided as indicated in the IEP.
