Superintendent's Message
May 2024
Dear Whittier Union High School District Community,
May was celebratory month for the Whittier Union High School District as students across our campuses geared up for the end of the school year through various end-of-year activities, including spirit weeks, assemblies, and senior events.
The month of May is always a bittersweet time at Whittier Union – it celebrates the continued success of all our students while also placing a strong focus on our graduating class. Across the District, our senior students were celebrated with events such as senior Luaus, athletic signing days, and Commitment Day festivities. It has been truly inspiring to see our seniors celebrate their many achievements and to witness our student body, teachers, and staff come together to make these events memorable for everyone.
Also in May, Whittier Union and the Board of Trustees celebrated our District family during a Board meeting on May 14. The meeting recognized our students who took part in the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council this school year, our Classified Employees of the Year, Whittier Union's 2024 Teacher of the Year, and, of course, our retiring employees. Whittier Union is thankful to each and every one of you for your commitment and dedication to the betterment of the District.
As we enter the final week of the 2023-24 school year, I want to congratulate every member of our District for contributing to an incredibly successful and fulfilling school year. Our District community is strong, and we always do Whatever It Takes to ensure our students, above all else, have access to the tools and resources they need "To Achieve and Maintain Excellence."
Thank you for all you do, and congratulations to the Class of 2024.
